Ron has worked with Cowboys Nightmare, 7 Days Holy and many more. He has also played on projects for Ark Royal and many others. Currently Ron is working with his original/cover band Texas TNT to produce an all original album.
Ron has taken the tricks of yesterday’s producers and engineers to the next level, by using modern day technology. He has a vast understanding of what it takes to get the job done, and is always up for any audio challenge.
Matt Jackson (Audio Engineer)
Matt Jackson has been recording music since 1994. After recording and mixing he discovered the art of mastering.
In 2002 Matt studied the art mastering and found the process to be different from recording and mixing. He also discovered that without the proper tools it is impossible to get your final mix to have that big over the top sound.
Matt has worked with artists like; Kady Malloy from Season 7 of American Idol, A Stellar Fire, Joe Adrian and others. Matt has also contributed to projects like; Nestor Llanos as well as providing a backing band for Kady Malloy. Matt is no stranger to the Houston area cove scene either. In addition to recording from the ground up he also provides backing tracks to local cover bands. Most recently Matt has worked with local Houston area band Von Noir on their latest E.P.

Once you’re done recording and mixing the journey doesn't end there. You still need to have your final recording mastered. What's mastering? Mastering gives you one last look at the mix, and just like in the mixing process, you would want to make sure the mix is clean and punchy, and of course as loud as a commercial release.
When you mix a song you take all the elements and make sure that there is enough clarity to hear everything. You then have to mix those elements accordingly. Mastering looks at each song individually and then looks at the album as a whole. Form there you use EQ, compression and limiting like you do when mixing, you apply them to the two track versions of your mix and the entire album.
Our mastering rate is only $35.00/song and is handled offsite by Jackson Street Studio So if your band has a 10 song album, mastering that album would cost you $350.00. This offer is only extended to clients of Crystal Skull Studios that record and mix in house.
